Legal Requirements

You must be 21 years of age or older, to order or receive alcoholic beverages from MK Cellars, LLC, DBA SummitVine. Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of an adult.

Direct Shipment

Due to the ever-changing nature of wine shipping laws, as our winery grows, we will be pursuing permits for direct-to-consumer shipping into certain states. Until we have licenses in place to ship directly, we will use a licensed third-party wine shipment company for all orders that are not “pick up at winery” orders. Most orders will be shipped via FedEx Ground, unless special arrangements are made with us.

By arranging for transportation of the wine, MK Cellars, LLC, dba “SummitVine” (MKC) is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the customer. By utilizing this service from MKC, the customer is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. Therefore, title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from MKC to the customer at our winery in Napa, California and the customer assumes all responsibility for shipping it from our winery to their home state. The customer also represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

Temperatures & Wine

Wine is a perishable and does not do well in extreme temperatures; the heart of winter and summer months. These extreme conditions may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. We will make every attempt to arrange shipment in air-conditioned transports but MKC is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When an order is delivered to or picked up by the third-party shipper for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the customer.

Shipping Charges

Shipping & Handling charges are noted during the check-out process. We have, for the customer’s convenience, included some states in our store to which shipping costs have already been integrated. These charges are shipping costs we simply pass through from our arranged provider. If you do not see your state listed on our website or wish expedited shipping, please e-mail us at for options and costs.

Wine orders require the signature of an adult so, whenever possible, we strongly encourage you to use a commercial business address to assure the fastest and most effective delivery time.
